Lonely Jam Jar

Summary

The JAMs game’s purple jar is alone, contemplating its existence. It also meets Idle Sphere’s spheres.

Lonely Jam Jar

JAMs is one of the many incremental/idle games on Steam. The purple jam jar, the only “character” in the game, is bored. After all, it's alone. To pass the time, it contemplates its existence.

It exists to be clicked by players to obtain Steam achievements. Also to receive items in their inventories. As there are achievements for x hours in the game, JAMs is often open and the jam jar is not clicked for some time.

I wish I wasn't alone, it thought, and had a better existence.

Suddenly, the Idle Sphere game opened. Colorful spheres appeared in the game's setting, in space.

“At least you're still alive.” The spheres tell it, seeming to have read its thoughts. “We are created only to become more and more numerous, then we are swallowed and the cycle begins again. An infinite cycle.”

“That's so sad.” Replies the jam jar.

It sees them being devoured and the game closes. Suddenly, the purple jar is clicked and its boredom subsides. But it is still alone.
